1. The RRUFC 500 Club is a private Small Society lottery under the Gambling Act 2005, registered with Rochdale Borough Council and run by a sub-committee of Rochdale Rugby Union Football Club (‘RRUFC’). Half of the subscriptions received go to the prize fund and half to RRUFC investment and sporting projects.
2. Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over, up to a maximum of 500 numbers. The Club Year runs from 1 September to 31 August.
3. Each chance number costs £10 per month, payable by the 1st of each month. This form sets up one chance number paid monthly by Direct Debit. The rules also permit up to five chances per member and annual payment (£120 per Club Year); please contact the club if you would like either.
4. You will be allocated a membership number from the unallocated pool (normally the lowest available) and notified in writing. Chance tickets are not issued. Numbers are not transferable and return to the pool when your membership ends.
5. There are four quarterly prize draws each Club Year, in January, April, August and December, made on the last Saturday of the month following a rugby game at RRUFC (or as soon as reasonably possible afterwards). To be included in a draw your subscription must be paid as at the 1st of the month in which it takes place. The December draw is the Grand Annual Draw.
6. The prize fund for each draw is shared between the numbers drawn: 25% to the first, 15% to the second and 10% to the third, drawn largest first. Prizes are paid by cheque, to be collected in person from the club. Prizes unclaimed after 12 months return to the prize fund. Winners’ names are announced on the RRUFC website.
7. You may end your membership at any time by requesting cancellation in the member portal or by writing to the RRUFC 500 Club Committee at the RRUFC Clubhouse, Moorgate Avenue, off Bury Road, Bamford, Rochdale OL11 5LU. Subscriptions already paid are not refunded. The 500 Club may withdraw a number where the subscription has not been paid by the due date and does not accept responsibility for payments not received.
8. The RRUFC 500 Club may be wound up if membership falls below 50 (with payments received since the last draw refunded), and the rules may be changed, as permitted by the Gambling Act 2005, on not less than two months’ notice to members.
9. RRUFC will use the details you provide to run the 500 Club, allocate your number, notify winners and administer your Direct Debit, and may retain them on its records. Payments are processed by GoCardless.
